FOX INTERVIEW
FOX Racing Shox is there when “it” counts — what is “it” to you?
Going 120mph through the whoop section of San Felipe and counting on your shox!
Tell us about your setup.
Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck #1 is a 800 hp Race truck with 25” of front travel, 33” of rear travel, FOX 4.3 Shox, BFGoodrich Tires. The second Geiser Trick Truck #76 we run for BITD series has the same specs.
What else is in your garage?
Ford F150, Porsche Cayenne, Full Suspension Mountain Bike, Beach Cruiser, Cirrus SR22 G3Turbo, Cessna Centurion 210, Pilatus PC-12.
What's your training regimen?
Running with my dogs, playing basketball with my son.
Any major injuries, and how did you recover?
I hurt my knee pretty bad when we backflipped the Robby Gordon Trophy Truck at Laughlin in 2010. ItÂ’s as healed as itÂ’s going to get, but hurts after a few hundred miles in the truck.
What's your typical pre-race meal? Guilty pleasure?
I try not to eat a lot before the race, it could be a pretty long day out there in the desert. I always stay really hydrated before the race. Guilty Pleasure is definitely pizza and chocolate covered macadamia nuts.
What is your pre-race OCD behavior?
DonÂ’t know that I really have one. I try to stay calm and focused.
How do you determine which races to enter each year?
We are racing the full SCORE series and full BITD series this year. We won the Trophy Truck Points Championship last year, and are going for two this year!
What are some of your best memories?
Winning the 2010 San Felipe 250. It was my first Baja Trophy Truck win. The 1999 San Felipe 250 was pretty memorable for me too. Seeing Ed Herbst in his TT for the first time it still gives me chills.
What motivated you to get started racing?
I donÂ’t play golf.
What separates you from other professional athletes?
I donÂ’t really consider myself a professional athlete. My business keeps me super busy and while itÂ’s what allows me to race, itÂ’s what keeps me away from racing sometimes too.
How does FOX Racing Shox contribute to your success?
Winning races is about having the best possible equipment, the best team and being smart. Using FOX Racing Shox is smart - itÂ’s just the best equipment you can put on a Trophy Truck.
What would you be doing if you weren't a professional athlete?
Aerospace Manufacturer
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
Getting up in the morning and doing what you love.
What other sports are you interested in?
I donÂ’t participate in any other sports, but I go to a lot of my sons sports games. I like flying and snow boarding.
Any advice to the readers dreaming to turn pro?
Stay focused. Take good care of your health and surround yourself with the best equipment and people!
