World Cup Finals Kamil Tatarkovic 3rd Place!
Last stop of the World Cup series this year was the Italian resort called Val di Sole. Even this track is not one of my favorites, on the way home I was very happy with my riding and result there.
The track in Val di Sole is already the third year almost the same, not too technical and second part is very pedally. Organizers made a new surface on the track this year, which firstly looked good, but the practice showed that it will be very slippery from the start to the finish line. Big advantage of the track in Val di Sole are big and wide berms with several lines. That made racing really interesting and in almost every heat you could see great action and overtaking maneuvers. I think it was a great race to watch for all spectators.
In qualification I had a clean run and I finished on the 4th place. Saturday evening started the race. I managed to went through all my heats and got into the final, which I was very happy about. I had an outside line on the start so I wanted to try to go from outside to inside in the first turn, which I did and I got on the third place. In the second and third turn, I lost the speed on the slippery surface and lost the contact with other racers. After the fall of Graves I crossed the finish line on the 3rd place and I could enjoy the World cup podium! In the overall World cup ranking I finished on the 8th place!
Next week we have the most important race of the season, the World Championship in Champery, Switzerland, and after that the race season is almost over ...
