Kamil Tatarkovic Czech DH Championship Report
09.28.12 Just week before the World championship we had a great race in Czech National downhill championship. All top Czech riders came to the new bikepark in Kouty nad Desnou where we were racing on the new downhill track. Over 4 minutes long course with several great jump, roots, berms, rocks, flat corners, slow and fast sections, just perfect mix for a proper DH track, probably the best one in Czech at the moment.
I was trying to be ready for this race so I was already twice training on this track and I was trying to find the best and the fastest lines. I was really enjoying riding more DH again and it was great to feel the speed! Every time I was riding in Kouty I was lucky as the track was dry, dusty and it was lot of fun to ride there. Unfortunately as the race came the weather got worse and it started raining really hard. Rain, mud and wet roots is something that I really don't like and that I'm scared of. Anyway I found good lines for my final run and I was feeling ready.
I had pretty solid run, didn't do any big mistake and I enjoyed every second of my ride. I did few whips for spectators and still tried to go as fast as I could and finally I cross the finish line on the 4th place! I was hoping for medal but with all the circumstance I was still happy to be on the podium.
Right now my focus is back on fourcross as I'm going to Leogang for 4X World Championship!
