Father and Son Team of Wayland and Shannon Campbell Take First Place
May 6-8, 2011
Gilbert, AZ May 10, 2011- Rockcrawling heads to Oroville, CA for the 2nd stop in the WE Rock (west) Series. The competition site known as Surplus Citys URBAN ASSAULT is one of the toughest man made sites used for the WE Rock series. There is a mix of technical crawling and vertical climbs that challenge the drivers to keep it on all four tires. Driving in the ProModified class in the #5az is Nick Campbell and spotter Ryan Miller. Nick fought mechanical issues most of the weekend, making some of the obstacles more of a challenge. Keeping it together Nick and Ryan took the podium with a 2nd place finish. In the Unlimited class, driving the #5 buggy is 15yr old Wayland Campbell being spotted by (dad) Shannon Campbell. Wayland learned a few more things this weekend, not all courses are the same and you have to be prepared for anything. Wayland and Shannon placed 5th in class. Shannon said its a great learning curve for Wayland to drive the Promod car in the Unlimited class but to be competitive hes going to have to step it up and build something new.
