Jones Motorsports Wins BITD Silver State 300
Jesse Jones teamed up with Bryce Menzies as they raced the #76 Geiser built Trick Truck to its first win. Bryce's first experience in a Trick Truck was Thursday's Time Trials session where he qualified 2nd in class and 5th overall for Saturday's starting position.
Menzies handed the truck over to Jones at Race Mile 184 and Jones raced into first physical position by race mile 260. In the final few miles before the finish, Jones got a flat tire and opted to race it to the podium to hold his position and claim the victory over the Nevada Desert. "Bryce did an exceptional job with the truck and we had a great day in the desert," said Jones. "It was a last minute decision to add this race to our schedule and I'm very happy that we did. This new truck is amazing, we still had the spare motor that we used from Vegas to Reno in the truck and were able to run a winning pace." The truck had virtually no prep from Vegas to Reno, with the short notice only the two rear tires and the oil was changed!
Geiser trucks dominated the field at the Silver State 300, claiming the line up from 1st through 5th place winners in the Trick Truck Class. The first race for the Jones Motorsports new Geiser built truck was last month at the grueling 996 mile Vegas to Reno "The Long Way." Jesse Jones took 4th place in class and 5th place overall.
Jesse Jones shifts into the Short Course world to race his Unlimited 2 at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in Surprise, Arizona October 16th and 17th and returns to the #76 Trophy Truck for the SCORE Baja 1000 in November.
