Cameron Steele & Justin Smith Lead Menzies Motorsports to Victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Larry Job Leads Unlimited Pro Buggy Points Race for the Championship!

11.16.10 LAS VEGAS, NV Cameron Steele and Justin Smith continued their winning ways leading Menzies Motorsports to the top step of the podium in Round 14 of the 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Series presented by GEICO Powersports at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Fans of the popular Lucas Oil Off Road Series came out to the spectacular Las Vegas Motor Speedway and were treated to the best weather and the best racing of the season. Lucas Oil track officials prepared a near perfect racecourse for what turned out to be a spectacular weekend of competition.

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is home track for the formidable Menzies Motorsports and they did not disappoint as the boys in red were fired up to entertain the local fans. Drivers Larry Job and Justin Smith added valuable points towards their season championship run for glory.

Bryce Menzies raced his Blanco Basura/Bully Dog Pro 2, while Larry Job and Cameron Steele raced the two Pro Buggies. Justin Smith and Toby Bost charged the track in their competitive 1600 Single Buggy class that saw Smith claim podium positions each day, leading the charge for the Las Vegas based super team.

By the end of the weekend, Cameron Steele reigned as Unlimited Pro Buggy winner in Sundays Round 14, followed by Larry Job in second. However, Jobs podium finish gives him a solid points lead in the race for the season championship trophy and although not mathematically eliminated, Cameron Steele would have to win big to overcome the point lead by teammate, Larry Job.

Menzies Motorsports team owner Steve Menzies explained, Ive supported Larry and Cameron all season long and told them just not to take each other out. I dont have a favorite between the two for the season championship, but its very important that we continue our success from season to season and win championships. Im looking forward to the last race of the season, and we cant forget the great job Justin Smith has done all season long. Hes performed well and I expect another grand performance in the last race of the year.

Highlights:
While Bryce struggled with the setup in the Pro 2, Cameron Steele and Larry Job were dialed in to their Unlimited Pro Buggies. The two racing veterans had to work to keep from taking each other out in Saturdays big race as they battled back and forth nearly every lap. In the end, it was Larry Job who claimed the 4th position just off the podium followed by Cameron Steele in the 5th position. That would all change come Sunday afternoon, as both Menzies Motorsports drivers earned podium positions. With Steele winning the race, Job was a close second, putting Menzies Motorsports in the hunt for the Unlimited Pro Buggy season championship. Cameron smiled and commented, Im so stoked to have won again and continue the battle for the season championship. My race team partner, Larry Job, and I embattled in a close race for the championship. Although I won Round 14, he finished right behind me and its going to be a dogfight in the last race of the season.

Bryce qualified the #7 Blanco Basura/Bully Dog Pro 2 in the 7th position for Saturdays main event. He was not, however, pleased with the lack of speed in the blaze red race truck. We are working hard to perfect the setup, but weve struggled to make speed. Well get there, said Bryce Menzies.

As the Pro 2 race kicked off, Bryces luck went south. Heavy contact early slowed him and from that moment on, he could never make up time on the lead pack. Bryce reflected, Im disappointed because I felt we arrived to the track with a great chance to make up some points in the race for the season championship, but it didnt happen today. Although we will keep racing hard, the points championship seems to be out of reach at this point.

Sundays Pro 2 results were better for Bryce Menzies as he earned the 7th position overall, but still not the results he has been working towards. Bryce later said, You cant take anything for granted when it comes to racing. Some days are better than others and this weekend definitely was not mine. We will bounce back for the end of the year extravaganza.

In the Limited Single Buggy class, Justin Smith continued his march towards a season points championship by continuing to win races and dominate the podium every weekend. Menzies Motorsports has provided me with a great opportunity and Im doing everything I can to seize the chance to win a championship. The crew has really given me a great car each and every weekend and there is only one race to go for the championship, said a smiling Smith.

Toby Bost continues to make strides in racing the Oneill Limited Buggy and by the end of the weekend, he finished 11th both days
Menzies Motorsports finishes out the racing season with the final round of the 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series to be held December 10-11, 2010 at Firebird Raceway, Phoenix, Arizona.
