How does FOX contribute to your success?
By supplying a consistent product which is never going to fail.
Tell us about your best race or event and how it changed you.
Probably getting 9th in Maribor in 2007. It was my first year of World Cups but it gave me the confidence of knowing I had the speed to race at that level.
Tell us about your bike/vehicle setup.
Being on a v10 our ride is very plush, but being able to use all that travel yet not get lost in sag is a fine line. The capability of the 40 - DHX setup finds this balance easily.
What else is in your garage?
I've got a pimp Blur TRC, KTM 250xc, CRF 100, Santa Cruz Jackal, Santa Cruz Tallboy!!! All the good stuff.
What's your training regimen?
I train 6 days a week in the off season and keep it ticking over during races and so on! The most important thing for me is being rested before races, so it's like everything, finding a balance.
Any major injuries, and how did you recover?
Quite a few, just determination to get back to racing is enough every time!
What's your typical pre-race/event meal? Guilty pleasure?
A Kathy Sessler special of pasta, salad and the best sammys you've ever tasted.
How do you determine which races or events to enter each year?
It's mostly pre determined when I get my schedule emailed through in January!! Haha! I usually try to do World Cups, BDS, and a select few others.
What motivated you to get started professionally?
Going fast on bikes feels great, why not try and make a living out of it.
What separates you from other professional athletes?
My goofy laugh.
What would you be doing if you weren't a professional athlete?
Drifting cars.
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
There are many perks of the job. Having the coolest looking and best performing bikes given to you for free has to be one of them!!!
What other sports are you interested in?
Enduro on motorcycles is fun. Also drifting cars is my hobby in my downtime.
Any advice to the readers dreaming to turn pro?
Keep it fun! Take racing seriously, but if you lose the fun aspect then it will become harder to progress.
