How does FOX contribute to your success?
FOX product is so dialed it makes me feel like I'm still a pretty good bike rider. Seriously though, the product is flawless!
Tell us about your best race or event and how it changed you.
Best race experience was my second World Cup dh win, Tomac was second which was surreal. In terms of a trip, it was a recent film shoot to Nepal. It was an eye opening experience, beautiful country, massive mountains, incredible people, my best film shoot to date.
Tell us about your bike/vehicle setup.
Supple off the top and progressive and snappy at the end.
What else is in your garage?
Way to much crap including, skis, hockey gear, skateboard rail, kids bikes, surfboards, tools, tunes and mini fridge.
What's your training regimen?
Riding tech shore trails, gym, Alpine skiing. I get bored easily so I switch it up depending on how I'm feeling.
Any major injuries, and how did you recover?
Many injuries. I found the best way to recover is rest, eat healthy and hit the gym as soon as possible.
What's your typical pre-race/event meal? Guilty pleasure?
Don't race anymore with the exception of a few Enduros. I love beer and coffee.
How do you determine which races or events to enter each year?
If they are in a cool location with sick trails.
What motivated you to get started professionally?
I wanted to see if I could turn my passion in to my job. It's exceeded my expectations.
What separates you from other professional athletes?
I'm old and washed up.
What would you be doing if you weren't a professional athlete?
Running a small company that would hopefully give me the freedom to ride, travel and spend as much time as possible with my family and friends. Sounds pretty ideal.
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
What other sports are you interested in?
Skiing, hockey, surfing.
Any advice to the readers dreaming to turn pro?
Keep working hard and have fun. If you're good people will eventually take notice.
