How does FOX contribute to your success?
Running their shocks has given me confidence in my equipment to hit things hard.
Tell us about your bike/vehicle setup.
My setup is two 2011 Yamaha 450s.
What else is in your garage?
A dual sport bike along with a couple bicycles for training.
What's your training regimen?
I try to workout every day. Most of the time I am training other kids, so I have to keep it fun. We usually do unique things like push a wheelbarrow up my driveway. Or to multi-task, stack big rocks for a retaining wall!
Any major injuries, and how did you recover?
I broke my leg pretty bad. It was not fun and I took the time to recover fully because I didn't want to go through that again.
What's your typical pre-race/event meal? Guilty pleasure?
I don't really have a pre-race meal. The one thing I always eat is a banana, other than that, it fluctuates.
How do you determine which races or events to enter each year?
I really enjoy endurance racing like GNCCs. I live in the bay area so I ride the AMA District 36 Series, National West Hare Scrambles and whatever GNCCs I can get to.
What motivated you to get started professionally?
When I was little, my big brother Patrick had a dirt bike and he used to ride it around the yard. It wasn't long before I was begging him for a turn. I was hooked ever since. My love for riding has allowed me to continue pushing, also I do like winning!
What separates you from other professional athletes?
I teach riding schools. I enjoy racing/riding and think it's a great environment. I want everyone to have the chance to ride like a pro and be involved with this industry.
What would you be doing if you weren't a professional athlete?
I would probably have a "real job!"
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
Getting to travel around and meet so many awesome people.
What other sports are you interested in?
I play on a soccer league. I enjoy watching motocross and supercross.
Any advice to the readers dreaming to turn pro?
Come take one of my classes and I will teach you how to!
