How does FOX contribute to your success?
The FOX setup makes the bike easier to ride, so I go faster!
Tell us about your bike/vehicle setup.
Yamaha YZ85s with FOX PODIUM RC2 shocks, MX-C Cartridges, Pro-Curcuit exhaust, Varner built motors.
What else is in your garage?
Aside from my YZs, I have a sik 50 pit bike and a half-pipe.
What's your training regimen?
Laps, trampoline and skating on my half-pipe.
Any major injuries, and how did you recover?
Just a couple of minor ones.
What's your typical pre-race/event meal? Guilty pleasure?
Some kind of pasta - fettuccine alfredo or lasagna before races and after I like french toast with fresh strawberries and whip cream.
How do you determine which races or events to enter each year?
In previous years I just went to World Mini and Mammoth because they're both close. This year we got a little more into it; we also went to Loretta's, Dodge and Arizona Amateur Open.
What motivated you to get started professionally?
I started racing mostly just local stuff. When I got on the 85 I went faster, had more fun and started racing more Nationals.
What separates you from other professional athletes?
Well, I'm not a professional yet, pros get paid to ride and I just do it for the experience. What sets me apart from most kids I ride with is a good attitude; I'm in this sport to do my best and have fun at the same time.
What would you be doing if you weren't a professional athlete?
When I grow up I would like to be a professional MX and SX racer. If that doesn't work out, I want to go into pyrotechnics and blow things up.
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
My favorite part about being an MX athlete is to do BIG jumps 'cause I like to fly!
What other sports are you interested in?
Skateboarding and indoor skydiving
Any advice to the readers dreaming to turn pro?
Don't ever give up. And that's especially to parents who think their kids didn't do good enough and want to go home early. You know what quitters do?... they quit.
