How does FOX contribute to your success?
FOX gives me a solid platform to ride on and take the abuse I put myself through every day. There is no way I could do what I do with any other shocks.
Tell us about your bike/vehicle setup.
I ride an Arctic Cat M8 with a Twisted Turbo. I have FOX FLOAT X EVOL shocks on it. It absolutely rips and handles so awesome.
What else is in your garage?
Dirt bike, trials bike, 2 DH bikes, XC Mt bike, skis, and wakesurf boards.
What's your training regimen?
I ride my bikes almost every day during the summer/fall. I usually hit the gym for strength training in the fall.
Any major injuries, and how did you recover?
Lots of injuries... The bigger ones are: broken femur... long recovery but a good one, shattered collar bone... recovered after surgery, broken hands... torn ligaments... blah blah blah. I've also had close to 20 or more concussions between ski jumping, dirt biking and sledding... those have taken a toll on me.
What's your typical pre-race/event meal? Guilty pleasure?
I like to eat pasta or a steak before a big day.
What motivated you to get started professionally?
I bought my first sled in 1997 for sled skiing access. It didn't take very long before I was ditching the skis to rip the sled.
What separates you from other professional athletes?
I don't know... I just do it for me... for the fun of it.
What would you be doing if you weren't a professional athlete?
That's a great question... when I figure that out I'll let you know.
What's the best thing about being a professional athlete?
Being an inspiration to younger riders.
What other sports are you interested in?
Moto, DH mtn. biking, surfing, skiing, and trials riding.
Any advice to the readers dreaming to turn pro?
It's all in your hands... if you have the heart to do it and a strong mind you can accomplish anything you want.
What are your favorite magazines and websites?
Surf and moto mags. Don't really have a favorite website.
Favorite movie quote?
"Mama always said, dying was a part of life." - Forrest Gump
"You don't need a patch on your arm to have honor." - A Few Good Men
Who is your hero?
I don't really have a hero... I just need to make sure I'm a hero to my kids.
Are you a Mac or PC? Mac
Top 3 bands Kind of back into metal right now.
