2021+ DHX2 Travel Adjustment

The following steps guide you through the process of changing travel on the 2021 DHX2 shock. Make sure that the travel change being made is appropriate for the bike application before use.

DHX2 2.5mm Travel Spacers (PN: 233-00-461) are stackable to create travel reductions in 2.5mm increments up to 7.5mm. DHX2 Travel Spacers must be used in pairs.

All DHX2 Travel Spacer configurations (including no spacers) use the same two screws (PN: 019-01-193).

WARNING: FOX products should be serviced by a trained bicycle service technician, in accordance with FOX specifications. Step 1

Unthread the Preload Collar counter-clockwise when viewed from the Body Eyelet end until there is enough of a gap to allow for access to the Retaining Ring at the Spring Retainer.

Step 2

Remove the wire Retaining Ring then remove the Spring Retainer followed by the Coil Spring.

Step 3

Unthread the two screws in the Bearing Housing Cap counter-clockwise with a 2mm hex wrench. Lift up on the Bearing Housing Cap to reveal any Travel Spacers if present (2 pairs of 2.5mm Travel Spacers are shown for a total travel reduction of 5mm).

Step 4

Hold the Bearing Housing Cap up to remove or add Travel Spacers in pairs as desired. Make sure that the travel you are configuring the shock for is appropriate for the intended bike application. Position the Travel Spacers so their center through-holes are aligned with the threaded holes in the Bearing Assembly and the domed protrusions are facing down toward the Bearing Assembly.

Step 5

Reposition the Bearing Housing Cap on top of the Bearing Housing and any Travel Spacers present, making sure to align the through-holes with the threaded holes of the Bearing Housing. Reinstall the two screws, tightening clockwise to 10 in-lb (1.1 Nm) torque with a 2mm hex wrench.

Step 6

Reinstall the Coil Spring followed by the Spring Retainer and wire Retaining Ring. Verify that the Retaining Ring is fully seated in it's groove.

Step 7

Tighten the Preload Collar by turning it clockwise when viewed from the Body Eyelet end until the spring no longer moves, then preload the spring an additional 8 clicks of the Preload Collar.
