Before installing a new GRIP or GRIP2 cartridge into the fork, remove the red tape covering the cartridge tube vents.

***NOTE: The full rebuild below shows complete service of the GRIP2 damper which is generally not needed as part of an annual service. Basic cartridge maintenance including oil replacement and cleaning is generally all that is needed for the GRIP2 damper unless experiencing problems***
