2013-2016 Reversing the Remote rear shock cable stop
The following instructions demonstrate how to reverse the orientation of the cable stop on a FLOAT CTD Remote shock. This same procedure can be done on remote DPS and FLOAT X shocks. The reversable cable stop allows versitile cable routing and shock installation on a variety of frames.

Images appearing in this guide were shot using an eyelet assembly and not a complete shock. Use these same instructions to perform this procedure on complete shocks.
Step 1
Remove the red rebound knob and the blue CTD pulley from the shock using a 1.5mm hex wrench.
Step 2
Remove the retaining ring. A thin flat blade driver or valve can be used.
Step 3
Remove the cable housing stop.
Step 4
Install the cable housing stop in your chosen orientation (up or down). Reinstall the retaining ring.
Step 5
Install the remote pulley over the flat sided compression CTD cam as shown.
Step 6
Do not tighten to the full 5 in-lb torque spec yet! Wind the pulley in a clockwise direction with the hex driver, past the built-in pulley stop in the cable housing stop plate. As you wind just beyond the pulley stop, slightly loosen the pulley set screw only enough to ensure necessary clearance for getting by the cable housing stop.
Step 7
Press the pulley down with your thumb with the pulley set screw just loose enough to let you snap the pulley down against the cable housing stop. Tighten the pulley set screw to ~5 in-lb torque. Inspect for a close fit between the pulley and the cable stop, but not too snug to prevent the pulley from moving freely.
Step 8
Test and make sure that you can rotate the spring-tensioned pulley clockwise from approximately 1 o'clock to the 5 o'clock position. Make sure the pulley returns freely and completely, and operates smoothly.
Step 9
Install the red rebound knob by lining up the set screw with the depression on the rebound cam and tightening to ~5 in.-lb with a 1.5mm hex wrench.
Step 10
You are now ready to install your cable per the FLOAT CTD Remote installation instructions ».
NOTE: Actuate the release lever with the suspension unweighted for immediate changes between damping settings. Actuating the release lever with the suspension under load may cause a slight delay transitioning between damping modes.
